Software Shelf Channel Manager Christian Delalez Returns from Polar Expedition and Provides Support Above Arctic Circle.

02 May 2006
Software Shelf’s Channel Manager for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa), Mr. Christian Delalez has today returned from an expedition to within a few hundred miles of the North Pole. Christian’s adventure included visiting our northerly most customer, the University of the Arctic in Longyearbyen far above the Arctic Circle where he supplied them with additional Software Shelf product.

Christian was happy to report that he survived his trip further north to within a few hundred miles of the North Pole, although he was almost eaten by a polar bear running in attack to within 10 metres as Christian jumped on his snowmobile escaping contact. In another instance, he overturned his snowmobile and was trapped under it for twenty minutes unable to reach his gun while being surrounded by hungry polar bears. He was rescued when the other expedition snowmobile caught up to him and no harm came to him.

Christian’s adventure actually came about through an invitation from his daughter who is a polar explorer and wildlife photographer based at Longyearbyen, Svalbard at 78 degrees north latitude.

Christian met with the IT Administrator at the Arctic University in Longyearbyen, our most northerly customer, and reports that this customer was happy with our personalized support service and with Software Shelf products.

We ask all of Christian’s customers and friends to wish him a “welcome home” to the milder latitudes of the planet.
